Terms of Service

In order to review your work, we need the following from you:

  • A request from you that specifies the service needed (proofreading, editing, or commenting), the deadline, and your contact information.  Please read our submission guidelines before submitting documents, and use our submission form.
  • A copy of the document which you want reviewed.  We prefer documents submitted in electronic format; accepted formats include Microsoft Word (*.doc or *.docx), rich text (*.rtf), or plain text (*.txt).  If you are using a word processor other than Microsoft Word, you should be able to save a copy of your document as a rich text file before submitting it to us.  We are willing to review hard-copy submissions, if that is your preference. Please refer to our submission guidelines page for more information about this option.
  • The assignment or project guidelines which describe what your work is supposed to accomplish, including any requirements such as style (MLA, APA, Bedford, etc.) or other formatting restrictions.
  • Payment, either in cash or via Paypal.  Personal checks may be accepted if arrangements are made in advance. Please see our pricing and submission guidelines pages for more information.

What We Promise to You

We will provide the requested service according to the timeframe selected at the time of purchase, to the best of our ability.

We will use our skills to best advantage in demonstrating how your writing may be improved.

We will deliver feedback gently if possible, and firmly if necessary, with the aim of avoiding any unnecessary cruelty or rudeness in phrasing.

We will be honest about the limits of our skills and experience.  If something falls outside our area of expertise to such a degree that we feel unable to provide the requested service and feedback, we will notify you as soon as possible so that you may seek another reviewer.

During peak demand times (such as around midterms or finals), we may receive more requests for services than we are equipped to handle.  If this becomes the case, we will post a notice on this website that our services are temporarily unavailable, and will respond to any e-mails in the same way.  If you wish, we can keep your request on file and notify you once we are able to accept additional submissions.

Should a power outage or other factor beyond our control make it clear that we will be unable to meet your requested deadline, we will notify you as soon as possible and refund your payment for that item so that you may seek another reviewer in the time remaining.

Should a power outage or other factor beyond our control result in a missed deadline, we will refund your payment for that item and review the document as originally requested, so that you may still learn from the feedback provided.

We will strive to behave in a helpful, mature and civil manner when interacting with you.

The information on this website is accurate and current, to the best of our knowledge.  Changes in company policy will be duly posted on this website so that you can make informed choices about future purchases.

We reserve the right to refuse services to anyone, on any grounds.  If we cannot serve you, we will notify you as soon as possible so that you may seek another reviewer.

What You Promise to Us

Any work that you submit for our review is your original writing, is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and is the best you are able to produce with your current skills.

You have read and understood our pricing information, terms of service, and other information on our website which describes the available services.  If you have questions about any information presented on this site, you will e-mail us for clarification prior to placing an order.

Your payment for our services is made in good faith, and if it is paid in a form other than cash, will process as it should.

You will strive to behave in a mature and civil manner while interacting with us.

What We Can't Promise

We can't guarantee that you will receive an A+ (or any other specific grade) or result from the final document after our review.  Those things are up to your teacher, supervisor, publisher, or other audience.

We can't guarantee that our feedback will never hurt your feelings.  Revision is certainly beneficial, but it's rarely pleasant to have someone tell you that you've done something incorrectly.  You're paying us to boost your skills, not your ego.

We don't check sources or quotations, other than making sure that citations are formatted correctly.  Avoiding plagiarism is your responsibility.

We can't guarantee that nothing will ever go wrong with the review process, only that we will do our best to minimize interruptions and glitches.  Fertilizer happens.

We can't give you writing skills or talent if you don't have any.  We can, however, help you to develop and hone any skills you do have, and to develop greater expertise at the technical aspects of the writing craft.
